Found this mix @ I dunno where?! erm... on my ext HD actually. But point of origin is definitely unknown.... Sounds like it could be an Essential Mix for sure, but I couldn't find ANYTHING online about a big House mix from '94 (Essential or otherwise) which has the same profile as this.
Opens up with this Janis Joplin dedication white label *from '94!* where she goes from singing right into a conversation w/ I suppose the audience, maybe herself? Nobody knows. Doesn't matter. But it's pretty special! The band even knows to just give her a minute so she can extrapolate (much to the horror of the already ill 'Brown Acid' casualties :( haha!). Then the bassline kicks in, and the mix is off with a Bang...
The original audio file I found (PM=1994.mp3 --- anybody know what this is?? Please let me know!!) sounded HORRIBLE. Just like a tape rip but with Dolby NR, then RE-Sampled with MORE Dolby NR and some Hiss reduction. Just no high freqs at all, all muddy in the Mids and low's.
I ran that thing through Sound Forge and miraculously gave it working prosthetic frequencies, then processed the envelope since it was all over the place - and here is the finished product. Enjoy...
